Dr. Jianming He has over 30 years of widely-diversified engineering experience in engineering design, system optimization, hydraulic simulation, transient analysis and modeling, hydraulic system design, software development and Internet applications. Dr. He has extensive research experience in fluid mechanics and with over 20 years of application experience servicing water utilities and mining industries in hydraulic system design and modeling. Dr. He is also responsible for pipeline simulator development and pipeline operation subversion and training. Dr. He’s specialities include:

Dr. He is currently working for his own pipeline design company: Chengdu Kesi Pipeline Technology Inc. located in Chengdu, China, servicing worldwide clients in mining and related industries. He is responsible for all the technical issues in water and slurry pipeline systems design from feasibility studies, conceptual design, basic and detail engineering to system performance evaluations. Dr. He has finished more than fifty pipeline projects on various pipeline design issues, such as hydraulic design and optimization, system performance and simulation, operation analysis and optimization, which have been well regonized by the clients.

Logum Alcohol Pipelines, Brazil: Transient analysis

Responsible for transient analysis in the basic engineering for the alcohol transport pipeline, pipeline length = 734 km and diameter from 14” to 24”.


Feb. to Mar., 2012

MMX Iron Concentrate and Reclaim Water Pipelines, Tailings and Reclaim Water Pipelines, Brazil: Transient analysis and design review

Responsible for transient analysis and pipeline system design review in the feasibility study for the four pipelines, length from 8 km to 41 km, and iron concentrate throughput = 3206 tph.

Anglo America Expansion – Iron Concentrate Pipeline, Brazil: Transient analysis

Responsible for transient analysis in the feasibility study for three design options of the 527 km pipeline: 2 PSs and 30 MTA; 2 PSs and 60 MTA; and 3 PSs and 60 MTA.

Antamina Pipeline Leak Site Investigation, Peru: Hydraulic and pipeline system specialist

Responsible for site investigation on the slurry leak from a bend spool occurring on July 25, 2012 at VS1 and system operation safety study.


April – Oct., 2012

Phu Bia Mining tailings pipeline, Laos: Commissioning and operation support

Responsible for commissioning plan, schedule, procedures, choke station updates and operation support for the gold silver tailings pipeline: 16” in diameter, 9.92 km long, and pipeline design capacity 500 tph


2010-2012

Las Bambas Copper Concentrate Pipeline, Peru: Project lead in both hydraulic and mechanical disciplines.

Responsible for hydraulic design and optimization, P&ID, mechanical design, hydraulic transient analysis, and pipeline simulator development for a 216 km, 8.625-inch, 140,000 dmtpd pipeline system.


2010-2012

Pan Zhi Hua Iron Concentrate Pipeline, China: Process engineer, hydraulic specialist, and commissioning lead.

Responsible for hydraulic design and optimization, transient analysis, pipeline simulator development and commissioning for a 95 km, 10.75-inch, 400 tph pipeline system.


Sept. – Dec., 2011

Los Bronces Slurry Pipeline, Chile: Commissioning team lead as both hydraulic and mechanical specialist.

Responsible for commissioning plan, schedule, procedures, and executions for a 5 choke station slurry pipeline system: 28” in diameter, 51.7 km long, and pipeline design capacity 3500 tph.


Aug. – Nov., 2011

Los Bronces Reclaim Water Pipeline, Chile: Commissioning team lead as both hydraulic and mechanical specialist.

Responsible for commissioning plan, schedule, procedures, and executions for a 5 pump station water pipeline system: 2 pipelines (20” and 24”), 56.6 km long, design flow 2450 m3/h.


2010-2011

Samarco Third Iron Concentrate Pipeline, Brazil: Process engineer and hydraulic specialist.

Responsible for hydraulic design and optimization, transient analysis, and pipeline simulator development for a 400 km, 22/20-inch, 400 tph pipeline system.
